Steam proudly into the magical world of Harry Potter with the LEGO Hogwarts Express. Whether you’re a Harry Potter nut, a LEGO fanatic or simply adore well-built collector trains the LEGO Hogwarts Express is a must.
Open the beautifully illustrated pack to reveal the hundreds of bricks needed to build an engine, a carriage and of course the unique Platform 9 and ¾. LEGO have enclosed a 48-page instruction booklet to carefully guide you through the step-by-step construction process. But like all great building projects this one takes time and you will need to allow approximately 1 ¼ hours to build.
LEGO Harry Potter 4708: Hogwarts Express
The bright red engine is a true masterpiece even among LEGO’s own high standards. Enjoy the reward of building, brick by brick, that magnificent red engine proudly displaying its Hogwarts Express 5972 shield. Lift up one of the three engine lids to reveal a secret storage place–perfect for the little LEGO suitcase and two golden keys. And just in case the secret treasure is about to fall into the hands of “you know who”, the young LEGO wizard can flip a small switch on the piston to shoot the suitcase out of the engine.
The carriage itself is just as magical with a lifting top. Peep inside the carriage to see the young heroes excitedly discussing their next term at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry Potter, Fred Weasley and Hermione Granger are all LEGO style, but nonetheless true to their characters. Harry is complete with glasses and his famous scar, Fred sports his distinctive red hair and Hermione is as girly a swot as we imagined her. Naturally all three friends are complete with their magic cloaks, wands and their own special pet.
And finally there’s Platform 9 and ¾ built with its own special revolving door to allow Harry to swap the oppressive world of Privet Drive for the thrill and excitement that is Hogwarts.
